Join us on September 24 to help fight firefighter cancer, one step at a time

​

Only 100 first responders have the opportunity to be part of this exciting event on Sept 24 - will you be one of them?

 

While you can choose from uniformed and non-uniformed categories, know that every step you take towards the Rhapsody Resort Rooftop will help in the fight against firefighter cancer.

Registration and Fundraising

 

Step 1 | Register online for $0. Only first responders are eligible to enter this event.

Step 2 | Be the first to contribute to your fundraising effort.

Step 3 | Share your unique fundraising link with family, friends and work colleagues. NB: to be eligible to participate on September 24, each climber must raise a minimum of $300 that will directly assist in the fight against firefighter cancer.

Q2. How long prior to my start time should I arrive?
A2. 30 minutes

Q3. Is fundraising required to participate?
A3. Each first responder must raise a minimum of $300 to participate

Q4. Can anyone join this event?
A4. No, this event is only open to first responders. You must be either an urban firefighter, rural firefighter or a member of the emergency services (SES, QPS or QAS). The event has a capacity limit of 100 participants.

ARG: $5 from each PPE garment they wash is donated to the Firefighters Cancer Foundation of Australia

FCFA

The FCFA also;

​

  • Supports those firefighters diagnosed with occupational cancer to navigate the WorkCover claims process where needed

  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate legal support and representation where required

  • Provide personal support and aid for things such as hospital appointments, some limited financial support for items such as accommodation and everyday needs whilst going through treatment

  • Visit your station and provide education and awareness programs to raise firefighters awareness with occupational cancer and how to reduce your risk

The FCFA encourages any firefighter, active or retired, who find themselves with a diagnosis of occupational cancer to contact us as soon as possible. â€‹
